What are acceptable forms of payment?

We only accept Visa and MasterCard credit cards online. We do NOT accept debit card payments, and we do NOT accept check, money order or cash payments for online transactions.

How do I know if you've received my order?

If you ordered through the mail, your cashed check or credit card statement will serve as your receipt. Please allow at least one week for postal delivery to us. You may call us during office hours (8:30 am to 5 pm EST), or email us and we will gladly check the status of your order.

If you ordered through our website, your order will be acknowledged via email within two business days of your order. Please provide a complete and valid email address when ordering so we can send the confirmation promptly. This is in addition to the notification that appears on your computer screen immediately after you submit your order.

Will my information be secure?

Yes. Our website is secured by GeoTrust, which encrypts all the information you send through the website, whether you're ordering a subscription or purchasing books. You can view our SSL certificate for details.

Will my email address be given away or sold, resulting in spam?

No. We never give out your email information, so you will never end up on a spam list by visiting, emailing, or placing orders through our website. We ask for your email address when you place orders simply so we can email a note of confirmation, as a courtesy, to let you know your order was received. If you have any questions regarding this policy, please call or email us.

How can I purchase back issues of Carolina Gardener?

Carolina Gardener has been published since 1988, which means "we have issues." Visit the CG Archives for an index of back issues, listed by topic. Then note the issue codes (ex: "ND88" = Nov/Dec 1988) and call us, or order online (Visa or MasterCard required).

What if I didn't receive the current issue or the magazine arrived damaged?

Regretfully, mailed items do become lost or damaged on occasion. If you are having trouble receiving your magazine, please call or email us (please provide your full name and zip code) and we'll gladly remedy the situation for you.

How can I continue to give a yearly gift subscription to the same person?

You will receive the first three renewal notices for any gift subscriptions you've purchased that are about to expire. This gives you the chance to continue the gift each time it comes up for renewal. If we do not receive a response from you, the final notice will go to the gift recipient to give him or her the opportunity to continue their subscription.

Hint: You'll save $2 off the regular subscription rate if you renew before we send the second notice!

I've purchased my own subscription and a couple gift subscriptions; will I receive renewal notices for all of them?

Yes. Since many subscriptions are started at different times throughout the year, however, you will receive a separate notice for each subscription. To figure out which renewal notice is for whom, just check the "Ship To" name and address on the lower half of the invoice?this is the person who receives the magazine.

How can I order a gift subscription?

The quickest way is to order a gift subscription online if you plan to use a Visa or MasterCard. Be sure to provide your email address in the space provided so we can send you a confirmation electronically. With Carolina Gardener Online, you can order 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

You may also call us toll-free during office hours (8:30 am to 5:00 pm EST) if you are using a MasterCard or Visa, or if you would like to be billed for the subscription. Please have the recipient's name and complete address handy.

I've paid my bill; why have I gotten another invoice?

If you receive another renewal notice or bill after you've paid, please disregard it?chances are the new bill was generated just after the payment was processed.

If you receive a second bill after you've paid, please first check the "Ship To" name and address?this may be an invoice for a gift subscription that you give to someone and it's time to renew that subscription. If the "Ship To" name and address is yours, please call us at (888) 265-3600 or email us so we can remedy the situation for you.

When will my subscription begin?

We will start your subscription with the issue that is on the newsstand at the time we receive your order, unless the next issue is due within a couple of weeks. Your order will not be delayed, and whether you order online or through the mail, we will process your request quickly.

If, however, you've already purchased the current issue from a newsstand and want to begin your subscription with the following issue, we're happy to arrange that for you. Just call us or send an email following your online order.

You should receive your first magazine approximately 2-3 weeks after we receive your request. Occassionally delays occur, but please contact us if you do not receive your first issue within 6 weeks.

When will my subscription expire?

Your first renewal notice will be sent to you approximately two issues (or 4 months) prior to subscription expiration. Hint: You'll save $2 off the regular subscription rate if you renew before we send your second notice!
